Rezension von VerenaHCMein erstes Buch von Joe Abercrombie und ich muss sagen es war nicht so meins... Mir war es ein bisschen zu viel Humor und dieser, für mich, auch manchmal zu platt. Ich habe ein paar Mal geschmunzelt, richtig gelacht aber nicht. Zum Ende hin wurde das Buch für mich besser. Bin mir noch nicht sicher, ob ich zum nächsten Band greifen werde. Eigentlich wollte ich mal die Serie "The First Law" lesen und soweit ich gehört habe ist sie nicht so extrem mit Humor gespickt. Vielleicht probiere ich es mit dem ersten Band.
Rezension von luna stormblessedim in utter awe and quite in love with every aspect of this book. i honestly didn't expect this to become one of my all time favourite fantasy books, and i didn't even know it, but this book was everything i was desperately longing to read about for a while. it scratched an itch, i didn't know was itching and bothering me. for some this might be too slow at times, but for me it was perfect to get to know the characters to the deepest extent. (gosh, i love slow and THICK fantasy book babies.) and i didn't even notice it, tbh. my heart was crying with every passed page, with every sentence that brought me closer to the end. the characters are complex, conflicted, burdened by a struggle of their own, literally cursed and forsaken, but also raw. and their bonds, their interactions??? MANNNNNNN. every conversation was worth the read. also the setting? FLAWLESS. the atmosphere? SUPERB. what am i supposed to do now while i wait for the sequel? cry? whine? look for god? either way, im already SEATED and ready! A MASTERPIECE OF DARK FANTASY!!!
