Rezension von MaxiEine außergewöhnliche und gemütliche Lovestory über die Studentin August, die nach New York umzieht und dort in der Subway die mutige und bezaubernde Jane kennenlernt. Doch auch, wenn sie sich der attraktiven Fremden immer weiter nähert, scheint jene etwas zu verbergen - denn sie trägt jeden Tag die selben Klamotten und ist zu jeder Zeit in der Subway anzutreffen. August beschließt, der Sache auf den Grund zu gehen, doch je ernster die Sache wird, desto weniger kann sie ihre Gefühle für Jane ignorieren. Die Charaktere sind vielseitig, bunt und liebenswert gut ausgearbeitet, weshalb man sich schnell in der Geschichte wohl fühlt. Besonders Augusts Mitbewohner sorgen dabei für so manches Schmunzeln und generell ist die WG-Atmosphäre sehr angenehm. Der Schreibstil ist dabei relativ einfach und in der Erzähler-Perspektive verfasst, was für dieses Genre zwar ungewöhnlich ist, in diesem Fall aber trotzdem Charme und Witz hat und sich sehr gut liest. Auch die Story an sich ist mit Liebe zum Detail kreiert und verbindet auf unaufdringliche Weise leicht übernatürliche Elemente mit einer tollen Liebesgeschichte, während auch andere, zum Teil wichtige Themen dort einen Platz kriegen. Insgesamt also ein richtiges Wohlfühl-Buch mit einer süßen, lesbischen Lovestory, schrillen und tollen Charakteren und einer abwechslungsreichen Story, die einen auf ihre Weise begeistert. Man merkt wirklich wie viel Liebe, Herzblut und Mühe die Autorin hier rein gesteckt hat und kann es auf jeden Fall allen empfehlen, die eine erfrischende Story mit queeren Charakteren suchen.

Rezension von JustineI have to admit I was not expecting the scifi turn this took.... I had a bit of a difficult start with this. did not vibe with it for the first bit. But when August and Jane made contact, it was a bit like the world in these pages became brighter. I really enjoyed this.
