I started this book in July, paused it and then continued this month. At first the sentence structure was a bit complex (since english is not my native language) but I managed to get hold of the story eventually. Danni‘s and Rose‘s dynamic is authentic and heartwarming. It is exactly how one pictures a cute queer teenager romance. Loved it! Rose‘s struggle with her sexuality and identity were absolutely relatable. It is not easy growing up queer when your environment (or society in general) is so heteronormative. The protagonist’s thoughts and actions were understandable, based on their past and current circumstances. However, the story was too fast paced for me. Multiple weeks passed between two chapters which led to lack of depth / details. I would have preferred a shorter time span. Besides my critic, I can absolutely recommend this book! It fits for queer teenagers who are searching for a sapphic royal romance at a boarding school. This book had me emotionally involved - i guess it won’t leave my mind for a while now. Add: trigger warnings could be necessary for certain people.
