Rezension von BlisseyA heartbreakingly haunting depiction of the life of an undiagnosed autistic person The “clowning” (masking) causing Yozo to alienate himself more and more from “society” is very relatable to me. I could see myself especially in the descriptions of his childhood. He grew up very privileged and protected, yet he was abandoned emotionally, left to make sense of a society which had no space for people like him. I’m removing 2 stars for the many times his misogynistic behavior had me rolling my eyes into my skull giving me headaches :)
Rezension von Peanut“No Longer Human” ist sehr traurig und tief emotional. An manchen Stellen hatte ich Hoffnung und das Gefühl, dass sich für den Protagonisten alles zum Besseren wendet, aber er findet nie wirklich Halt und verliert sich immer tiefer im Selbsthass. Das Buch hat mich wirklich zum Nachdenken angeregt: Wie viele Menschen verstecken sich hinter Fassaden und stehen nicht zu ihren wahren Emotionen und Gefühlen? Daraus etwas zu lernen ist schwer. Man sollte aber immer ehrlich zu seinen Gefühlen stehen, sie akzeptieren und offen kommunizieren.

Rezension von CanNo Longer Human ist gleichzeitig richtig gut und richtig schwierig. Dazai schreibt so brutal ehrlich über Yozos Selbsthass. Dieses Gefühl, nicht in die Welt zu passen, trifft einfach hart. Aber man darf echt nicht so tun, als wäre alles genial, denn die Misogynie im Buch ist klar da. Frauen wirken oft wie Projektionsflächen oder Retterfiguren, nicht wie echte Menschen. Trotzdem hat das Buch einen wichtigen Einblick in kaputte Psychen
