It was a quick read because the writing style was basically a stream of consciousness. The story makes sense and everything is well thought through. However, I give it only two stars because<br/><br/>– I found the characters annoying and dumb. Their relationships seemed platonic and staged. <br/><br/>– The anti technology/social media/privacy critic felt exaggerated.<br/><br/>–Also, the ending was unsatisfactory, very very open and the frame back to the prologue was totally missing. Maybe that leaves room for interpretation, but this book didn't spark any motivation in me in order to interpret it further.

*!!enthält Spoiler!!* nope this wasn't for me... bro I hated the main character. like vee can't you just decide if you want to participate in the games no matter what happens or what the task will be (because you know they can be really hard) or just don't participate from the beginning. arghh I really can't relate to her... like in the one second she is totally for the game just because of the prizes, but then she also talks about how shitty the tasks are and that she doesn't want to do the next task but when she sees the next prize she is like fuck it im gonna do it. It literally took guns for her realising she has to stop. Literally 15 min before winning everything what she earned through a whole evening of going through hell she wants to stop everything. She is so indecisive omg I hate it also there is this cliffhanger in the end like bro I went through this whole book and then that... I'm not going to read another book of this but I really want to know the story behind Ian The only good thing about this book is the idea of this gameshow this is fr the only thing that earns one star.

I‘m soooo glad I read this. It is so much different than the movie and I honestly cannot decide if I like the book or the movie more. Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2022
