Rezension von Lena RückertIt took me a moment to fully get back into the world since I read Bride quite a while ago, so I’d definitely recommend reading Bride first to catch all the nuances. Once I was in, though, I loved the banter between Serena and Koen, and the dry, dark humor in Serena’s conversations with Misery was a highlight. There’s noticeably more spice than in Bride, but getting there is a slow, delicious journey. The yearning is done so well and makes the payoff worth the wait. My only real gripe: even in a world with werewolves and vampires, male doctors still manage to ignore female anatomy and misdiagnose something major, until a midwife finally sets things straight. Painfully realistic… maybe too realistic. Overall, sharp banter, strong chemistry, great yearning, and classic Hazelwood energy.
