I’m leaning toward a 3.5-star rating for this one, though I might revisit that on another day. On the one hand, it was a quick, entertaining, and mostly captivating read, which makes me want to rate it higher. On the other hand, I’m hesitant because the book treats very sensitive topics—like sexual abuse and psychological struggles—with relatively little depth. That said, I genuinely liked the idea behind this story. While I would’ve loved a deeper, more nuanced version of it, I still enjoyed it for what it was. It suited my mood perfectly and delivered exactly what I needed at the time: a fast, wintry romance. I also appreciated the author’s subtle humor woven between the lines, even if parts of the writing style didn’t fully work for me. At times, the repetition of certain words or short, mantra-like sentences felt a bit overused.
