Loved it!

“No one can hurt you as badly as the people you love.”
This book was such a disappointment. For a final book in a trilogy, I was expecting at least a dignifying ending for a story that fell apart considerably after the first book. Everything was predictable and too rushed, and everything was solved way too easily. The interesting aspects of peculiardom that could have been more explored in this book, as well as Jake's gift, were just breezed through and the main mystery of all, The Library of Souls, that was supposed to be the end goal of our villains, was just the scenario were the last battle took place, and even so it was rushed and badly done. Emma annoyed me to no end during this novel, with her judgy and moralistic ways and the fact that she was only there for moral support, because she did nothing of actual interest in the entire thing. The plot could have been better, if again it wasn't as rushed and if we didn't stop every few scenes for Jacob and Emma to have their gooey-sweet moments. The new characters, who had the potential to be interesting and complex, were just flat. Not even the pictures, the more interesting aspects of these books, could save the story here - of all the three books, these ones were the least interesting and 'peculiar' of all. They just seemed like these really old photos of normal people and stuff. A poor ending to a so-so series.
