LucyRezension von Lucy

This story is about the end of Narnia, when the evil monkey Shift and a fake Aslan plunge the land into darkness. The real Aslan returns, and some characters, including Lucy, Edmund and Peter, who died in the real world, end up in ‘Eternal Narnia’. A plot twist like that doesn't fit into a children's book. I think the book was too full of Christian symbols and themes, which takes the focus away from the actual adventure story and the fantastical elements. The many parallels - the false Aslan as a false prophet, Aslan as a Christ figure, the apocalypse and the ‘Eternal Narnia’ as life after death - felt overloaded and reinforced the impression that the story was more of a religious allegory than an exciting children's book.
