Rezension von selina 🍉this book made me sad and angry and left me devastated. I wanted to scream into the pages and tell Jiyoung to speak up. I hate that women still have to fight for the very same rights.
Rezension von Nurasehr einfach zu lesen und gut um einen aus einer Lese-Blockade wieder rauszuholen. Ein Must-Read für jede Frau ab 20. Betont die Probleme, die das Frau-Sein im Alltag und in der Arbeitswelt mit sich trägt. Zeigt, dass auch wenn Männer denken sie würden es verstehen, frauenfeindliches Verhalten reproduzieren.
Rezension von Chiara„The world had changed a great deal, but the little rules, contracts and customs had not, which meant the world hadn’t actually changed at all, (…) Do laws and institutions change values, or do values drive laws and institutions?” Ein unglaublich starker Roman, der die weibliche Erfahrung in unserer Gesellschaft einfach auf den Punkt bringt. Wie der Klappentext schon sagt: „Kim Jiyoung is every woman“. Ich muss sagen, dass ich bei dem Roman sprachlos bin. Es gibt wirklich nichts hinzuzufügen und obwohl man als Frau leider jede Situation, die in diesem Roman beschrieben wird, sehr gut kennt, haut es einen doch um, wenn man alles so komprimiert liest. Es macht einen echt wahnsinnig traurig und wütend. Besonders hervorzuheben möchte ich das Ende, hier wird einfach deutlich, dass der moderne Feminismus, trotz aller seiner Bemühen im Teufelskreis steckt, und einfach ohne eine strukturelle Änderung der Gesellschaft nicht erfolgreich sein kann. Ich finde den Charakter Kim Jiyoung sehr eindrucksvoll. Besonders wenn sie in dem innerlichen Konflikt steht ,zwischen dem eigenen Schutz und dem Kämpfen für Frauen, die nach ihr kommen, welcher sehr oft vorkommt. Ich denke diesen Gedanken kennen viele Frauen nur zu gut. 4/5 Sterne, da ich mehr einen Roman erwartet habe, als ein Sachbuch, da es zwar die Lebensgeschichte von Jiyoung beschreibt, es jedoch wenig Handlung gibt. Dieser Roman ist jedoch ein unglaublich wichtiges Werk für den Feminismus und kann (sollte) von jedem und jeder gelesen werden.
Rezension von LorenaKim Jiyoung, Born 1982 behandelt ein super wichtiges Thema ~ Sexismus im Alltag. Trotzdem konnte mich das Buch nicht so richtig packen :/ Der Schreibstil wirkt auf mich eher langweilig und wenig spannend. Es hat mich leider nicht so erreicht wie viele andere Bücher und ein paar Monate später hatte ich fast alles schon wieder vergessen
