Orig. part of a two-volume slipcased set, this listing is for ONLY Jane Eyre. Like its companion, this edition was produced by Richard Ellis for the Book of the Month Club, with the printing & binding by Kingsport Press of Tennessee. Illustrations were printed letter press from electrotypes of the original wood engravings. Hardcover book is bound in decorative paper (with woodcut illustration on both front & rear), with 1/8th wrapped green-cloth spines that have gilt lettering--very worn. Condition is downgraded to only Fair due to heavy rubbing to extremities on both covers, particular along bottom edges, which are worn down to underlying boards. Corners bumped. Inside, the book is very clean, illustrations in great condition. Former owner's name in pen on ffep; NO other underlining/highlighting/writing; NOT ex-lib. Please see our 5 photos!
