Rezension von EliszaLoved the book and read it in two days. Not sure how i feel about the last few chapters. They are good and everything, but i'm just not sure how much i like them and how good they fit in the story for me.
Rezension von Lady XI really liked this. The story was interesting, the characters were interesting, in the beginning I had the feeling, that the worldbuilding was not really there, that made sense in the end though. Overall I thought, that experiencing the world through Zetians eyes was well done. Also, I was a big fan of the actual love triangle and the lack of drama there was because of it.

So reine Gefühle, auch wenn sie hauptsächlich von Rache und Hass geprägt sind, hab ich selten in einem Buch vorgefunden. Zetian ist eine wirklich tragische Protagonistin, die allerdings keine Seltenheit in ihrer Welt darstellt. Unterdrückt, verstümmelt und misshandelt - einfach nur, weil sie eine Frau ist. Ein grausames Schicksal, gegen das sich Zetian endlich wehren will. Meine Güte, es gibt wirklich so viele gute Zitate in diesem Buch! Ich bin eigentlich keine Zitatemaus, aber diesmal musste ich mir unbedingt Einiges markieren. Zum Beispiel: "Ich glaube, dieses ganze Konzept von den willigen und gehorsamen Frauen ist nichts anderes als Wunschdenken. Warum sonst solltet ihr so viel Aufwand investieren, um uns zu belügen? [...] Ihr unsicheren Männer, ihr habt einfach Angst." Es hat sich wirklich gut gelesen und ich bin gespannt auf den zweiten Teil, weil man zum Ende doch nochmal viele neue Fragen im Kopf hat ❤️
Rezension von Kiki MovUnfortunately this was such a let down. I wish this book had been a draft than would be published after a lot of refinement . The two states is because the it incorporates together so great many themes and also soften sci fi plotslines. It could have been something much greater. In terms of writing; pacing; characterisation; character development; nuance..... The plot left me hungry for the next book for sure. So that's a plus! And as this is the author's first book, it will probably improve. It must be said I had high expectations because I like the author. They are an excellent youtuber, and could have been be an excellent comic writer as well
