Rezension von ffia (゜∀。)*spoilers.. BEWARE* Unfortunately, I don't think this book was for me. At many times during my read I felt that I was waiting for something to happen – pages, and pages and more pages as if they would amount to something profound and life-changing. I say this not to diminish the events that happen during the book, as they have truly touched my heart in ways that many books have not. With events that occur after Hamnet dies, I was bored out of my mind. I can appreciate that perhaps this choice to make reading the book strugglesome is one that represents how dull life is for the family after Hamnet dies: "How were they to know that Hamnet was the pin holding them together? That without him they would all fragment and fall apart, like a cup shattered on the floor?" Although you can achieve this without making the reader lose interest. Otherwise, I am soo inlove with how O'Farrell writes. To my knowledge, there isn't much information out there regarding Shakespeare's personal life and family; it baffles me how she is able to create these feelings, worlds, and characters. And give the boy that inspires the famous Shakespeare play, humanity.
