Rezension von JoanneThe story was both not what I expected and exactly what I anticipated it might be. Unfortunately I have to say that I am quite disappointed with how this series has ended. I really enjoyed Powerless and Reckless but this final book was in many ways a tragic conclusion for me. It started off okay but quickly declined. I found myself just hoping for something reasonable to happen, but instead, it became overly dramatic, tragic, and theatrical. It was almost unbearable. Additionally, the plot twists were all too predictable. I felt like I saw every twist coming three chapters ahead. It felt like the story relied on clichés, using a very conventional way of storytelling. It’s really disappointing that it had to end this way. I was looking forward to it, but unfortunately, it wasn’t for me at all.

Rezension von JonaPowerless und Reckless haben mir leider deutlich besser gefallen. Nichtsdestotrotz fand ich das Buch nicht schlecht. Schwierig fand ich, vor allem zum Ende des Buches, dass die Handlung nicht gleich schnell/langsam ablief. Beispielsweise muss Paedyn innerhalb von einem Tag die Krone besorgen, sprich hin und wieder zurücklaufen und am Ende des Buches werden auf einmal 5 oder 6 Tage in einem Kapitel beschrieben. Das hatte für mich den Effekt, dass es sich zum Teil gezogen hat oder so anfühlte als wolle man das Buch schnell und überhastet beenden. Mir sind tatsächlich auch noch ein paar Fragen offen geblieben, beispielsweise was mit Kais Mutter geschehen ist. Darüber wurde nicht mehr gesprochen. Generell fand ich das Ende nicht besonders gelungen. Es ging auf einmal alles so schnell. Zum Teil hatte ich dann aber das Gefühl, dass sich die Handlungen ziehen. Es gab Kapitel, die mir für die Handlung total unnötig erschienen. Es ist viel passiert, aber auch irgendwie gar nichts.
