Rezension von Sabs 📖🖤⭐️⭐️ 3.5 "She was my match, my queen, and I would spend the rest of my life worshipping her like one if she let me.” Honestly, that might’ve been the best line in the entire book. I have very mixed feelings about this one 👀 I actually ended up liking this more than Lights Out (and I didn’t love that book, so the bar wasn’t super high). Still, this one had a more refreshing premise and a plot that kept me more engaged overall. That being said… it wasn’t perfect for me. Some parts felt a little too political, and I found Ryan kind of annoying—mostly because the pronoun usage confused me at first. I also struggled to get into the story in the beginning, but once I switched to the audiobook while reading along, it got so much easier. Teddy Hamilton genuinely saved this book for me. I love that mans voice. 🙂↕️ Nic (a.k.a. Junior 🤢) could’ve given way more biker vibes. I honestly can’t even remember a single scene of him on an actual motorcycle? And the nickname “Junior” was such a mood killer. I was so relieved when he finally started being called Nic in the last 20% because THAT is a real name. Also… does Nic/Junior actually have money, or was he just pretending? 😭 Because something about it felt kinda off. My favorite part of the book was definitely the sex work storyline surrounding Lauren, and I loved how open and supportive Nic was about it. The romance had its moments, but the book didn’t completely blow me away. The last part dragged a little for me, and I couldn’t really connect with Tyler as a character at all. I did appreciate that the humor was toned down compared to book 1, since Lights Out sometimes felt a bit over-the-top with the jokes. One more thing: I liked Josh in Lights Out, but in this one he was honestly just whiny and annoying 😭 Despite my issues, I’m still curious about book 3!
