This book is absolutely incredible!! This definitely deserves the 5 stars!! The way it shows how racism is still an active things at school. This whole book had me all over my seats. Crying rn. As a black woman myself I could only sit here and relate to almost everything. The characters were so lovable and easy to relate to. Devon's whole story made me cry. His whole life was a mess. I cried so much when even Mr Taylor, who I liked so much turned against him. THANKFUL he beat the odds and proved that white man of what he's capable!! Even tho the bond that Devon and Chiamaka have is mostly formed through Trauma, Anxiety and all that I still love the fact that they both found comfort in each other and HELD TOGETHER! THIS WHOLE THINK JUST SHOCKED ME I guessed the whole Martha accident even before it was revealed. Knew that there had to be something with Belle especially when she didn't want to show that family picture of hers!! My theorie was it was either herself or her sister or smth. Wicked school, wicked families. Knew the headmaster was on it too, like the way on the first day there was this malfunction with the computer and aces showed up and nobody seemed shocked. Never wouldve guessed that THE WHOLE school was on it tho!! Wicked Regardless this book was amazing. Had me always longing for me chapters and when I was not reading my mind was full of it. This is how a book should be. Sad but beautiful book. Is definitely one of my favorites. Will re-read it.
