Reviewed by Jenny Bey2,5 ⭐️⭐️ – I loved the other two books (The Flatshare, The Switch) I read by Beth O'Leary, so I had high hopes for this one. I’m really disappointed by ‘The Road Trip’ but I did finish the book in hope it’ll get better. There were some funny parts but I missed the banter I enjoyed in ‘The Flatshare’ therefore I was most of the time bored reading it. I couldn’t warm up with any of the characters (mostly with Deb) and I think Rodney wasn’t needed at all to be in the story. I disliked most the side story with Étienne, I know it was important for the process but was the nearly rape needed??? I think it would have been enough if Marcus witnessed a kiss between Addie and Étienne. I really enjoyed the beginning of the book when Addie and Dylan met in France. Even I don’t enjoy ‘The Road Trip’ that much I’m gonna read Beth O’Learys other books because she’s a great author too read for in between times.
