Prince of the Skies by Antonie Iturbe is one of the best historical books I have read in a long time. This true story played with all of my emotions. This is the story of famed author Antonie de Saint Exupery and his aviator friends. In the 1920s, Saint de Exupery was a well respected pilot. Along with Jean Mermoz and Henri Guillamet, he was chosen to discover new mail routes across the world. They traveled the world by air but were faced with the tragedy of war on the ground. This book warmed my heart and tore it to shreds at the same time. I wanted to cry and bury myself beneath the blankets. I wanted to shake Saint de Exupery by the shoulders and say GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. I want to go back in time and read it again knowing nothing of what I already know. This book was hard to find but I am so glad that I was able to find it. I absolutely love this book and it will definitely be my book to recommend. I am still trying to get over the heartbreak. I give this book 5 stars! It is absolutely amazing in so many ways.
