Reviewed by JuliaI am so thirsty for sweetweird space-crimes in this part of my reading life. After I read THE SPARE MAN, I wanted more cozy mysteries. And Malka Older delivers. There is a case of a disappeared scientist, which is investigated by cool Mossa and her ex-girlfriend Pleiti. Pleiti is also our first person narrator and has a lot of concern about baked good, tasty tees and snuggly blankets. Which is all the more cozy because the story takes place on a gas planet with vicious storms. Therefore the best thing to do is to nestle into a favorite reading spot and devour this little gem of science fiction. There you can trail along the love story or ponder about the idea of collective effort of scientific world saving or loose yourself in the excellent world building. PS: I loved that “conservative” ist the meanest insult in this book. “So happy here, studying your ancient texts and cozy in those ridiculous quarters…” (it is meant as a hurtful commentary - but I think the character is describing heaven)
