First 750 pages were extremely slow and kinda boring. I’ve never read a book about magic written in such a dry matter-of-fact way. But then, suddenly it started to get more and more interesting. It’s a fairy tale but how it would happen nowadays with modern teenagers. Quentin is a bit too depressed and pathetic but I can’t blame him, he’s just an ordinary boy who dreamed about adventures and suddenly it got real, dangerous and deadly. I liked the ending and will read the rest of the books.
