Linus Baker ist ein Charakter mit so vielen Facetten wie ein Mensch nur haben kann und steht für all die, welche im Leben und Alltag gefangen sind, darauf wartend an Meer zu fahren und zu sehen was Farbe wirklich bedeutet. Kleine schafft es durch seine Wortwahl, humoristische pointierte Art zu erzählen sowie seine Charaktere eine Geschichte und Gefühl zu erschaffen welches einen mitnimmt und festhält. Im Verlauf der Geschichte sieht man die Welt in den Farben von Linus, erst Monochrom und Grau, langsam wandelnd zu Farbe und manchmal eine Mischung aus beiden. Dieses Buch ist für all jene die sich nach einer Geschichte sehnen Romantik verdient und ein Teil ist, jedoch nicht der Mittelpunkt, man seine wahre Familie und Zuhause findet und sie sich verdient, sowie Gesellschaftskritik und diversität so eingebettet ist, dass es scheint als wäre ihr Welt die unsere. Lest dieses Buch und begleitet Linus und Arthur auf ihrem Weg.
