Die Idee finde ich spannend, eine Kombination aus Märchenadaption, Academy Setting und Queerness, Disability Representation sowie murder mystery. Es gibt vier Protagonistinnen, alle queer und mit ihren eigenen Dämonen. Rory, lesbisch, Fibromyalgie; die neue Nani, lesbisch; Yuki, asexuell (yeah, representation ☺️) und Ella, pansexuell? versuchen herauszufinden, was mit ihrer möglicherweise ermordeten oder suizidierten Freundin Ari passiert ist. Dabei finden sie nach und nach heraus, dass sie Märchenfiguren entsprechen und finden gleichzeitig raus, wer sie sein wollen bzw. wachsen. Die Figuren wachsen deutlich im Verlauf des Buchs und jede hat ihre eigenen Sichtweisen. Manchmal fand ich sie nervig, zickig und dumm, manchmal sehr nachvollziehbar und real. Ich könnte mich in der ein oder anderen Szene wiederfinden. Dennoch ist auf 400 Seiten erstaunlich wenig passiert und manchmal zieht es sich ein wenig mit Teenie Drama. Ich konnte als erfahrene Leserin sofort nachvollziehen, wer mordet. Das Ende fande ich auch etwas seltsam. insgesamt 3,5/5 Sternen
