The Howling Rock Wolfriders, led by chieftess Ember, are in serious trouble. They've incurred the undying enmity of the Djun, the young human warlord who blames the elves for the deaths of his father and sister. The Djun has hired a bounty hunter -- the mysterious Lehrigan, whose skills and senses are as keen as any elf's - to track down the Wolfrider tribe and lure the elves into a fatal trap. And to top it all off, Ember herself must face a leadership challenge from within her small tribe, a challenge that could cost her her life.
