Told in the timeline of now and then, we follow along on the heartwarming and heartbreaking love story of Tom and Elizabeth. For the past 49 years, Tom leaves her a crocus and wish on Elizabeth’s doorstep every year on the day of their first kiss, but this year, the porch was empty She decides to take a chance and travel to his house and risk running into his wife. Arriving there, she rings the doorbell and discovers time may be running out on them. It is charming story with likable characters that are well developed. The alternating timeline flows smoothly and this story was heartwarming but also a little heart breaking but I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more by Michelle Adams. Thank you to NetGalley and William Morrow books for this advance copy for my honest review.
