Reviewed by LucyI really enjoyed the book, especially the illustrated edition. It is amazing how humans have always had the drive to understand how the world works, what is where, and why things are the way they are. While reading, I even felt a new kind of fear, the idea of being lost underground, without light or direction. This made the characters’ experiences feel even more real and thrilling. In the end, the characters do not actually reach the center of the Earth, but that works well for the story. It leaves you wondering what might be at the center and gives space for your own imagination. Overall, it is an exciting, imaginative book full of adventure and curiosity, exactly what I love. Honestly, it felt a bit short.. I would have loved to explore and discover even more.
