Reviewed by Johanna DennlerI was kind of disappointed in this book, as I expected to really enjoy Hyacinth's story. Their love story felt so forced. Really loved Lady Danbury in this one though. <spoiler> I absolutely HATED when Gareth started to think about ways to entrap Hyacinth with him. Especially as he decided to purposefully compromise her to keep her from not marrying him. And after he had been so worried about her finding out that he is a bastard and being sure that she would not want to marry him for it, her reaction was so underwhelming. Either he should have known that she would not be too concerned about it, or her reaction should have somewhat matched his expectations. The fact that she went to him after their fight also felt so out of character. </spoiler> Finally, the second Epilogue was so unnecessarily dramatic. Came out of nowhere.

Reviewed by BerraEven before starting this book I just knew that I was going to <i>love</i> Hyacinth‘s story and god, yes I really did. <b>Hyacinth</b> has always been one of my favorite Bridgertons and I loved how she always stood up for herself. She’s headstrong and so smart, simply incredible! <b>Gareth</b> is probably my favorite love interest in this entire series. I really enjoyed his banter with Hyacinth. What I really liked about their relationship is that they fell in love before they even got married to each other. <b><i>»I am asking you to marry me because I love you, because I cannot imagine living my life without you. I want to see your face in the morning, and then at night, and a hundred times in between. I want to grow old with you, I want to laugh with you, and I want to sigh to my friends about how managing you are, all the while secretly knowing I am the luckiest man in town.«</i></b> Even though their relationship evolved kind of fast it never felt like that while reading (at least for me). Their teasing and joking was so much fun to read. I absolutely fell in love with these two! Honorable mention: <b>Lady Danbury</b> aka the biggest Hyacinth and Gareth shipper on this planet. She‘s so funny and I really enjoyed the pieces we got of her. Her relationship with Hyacinth was so cute! <i><b>»In my heart, I’ve been your grandmother for years. I’ve just been waiting for you to make it official.«</i></b> The plot was also very enjoyable to me. I really liked the entire story about Isabella and the hidden jewels. It added so much fun and mystery to the book. 5/5 ⭐️ to my favorite Bridgerton couple!
