Rezension: Ich bin immer ein Fan von multiplen Perspektiven, die sich Stück für Stück immer weiter ergänzen. „Into the water“ hat hier etwas die Grenzen ausgetestet, weil es wirklich sehr, sehr viele Perspektiven sind, denen man folgen muss. Da ich die englische Ausgabe gelesen habe, war es teilweise eine Herausforderung, hier nicht den Überblick zu verlieren. Allerdings finde ich, dass die verschiedenen Perspektiven die Handlung deutlich spannender gemacht haben. Wie ein Puzzle ergänzen sich die Perspektiven allmählich, ohne langweilige, leere Längen. Jeder Blickwinkel ist auf seine Art relevant, gerade der Schluss hat mich nochmal alles hinterfragen lassen. Paula Hawkins schreibt sehr angenehm und bildlich, ich hatte mit dem Verständnis keine großen Probleme und konnte der Handlung gut folgen. Die Charaktere sind bunt gemischt - schrullig, merkwürdig, abstoßend, mysteriös, nervtötend und doch meist nachvollziehbar. Die verschiedenen Erzählstränge und Neben- und Haupthandlungen sind alle auf ihre Art spannend und ergänzen sich bis zum Schluss zu einem stimmigen Gesamtbild. Die Kapitel haben eine angenehme Länge, weshalb ich schnell durch die Seiten geflogen bin und wissen wollte, wie alles zusammenpasst. „Into the water“ ist zwar schon etwas älter, aber auf jeden Fall sehr lesenswert.
