Reviewed by Franziska JansenA fun, fast-paced popstar x bodyguard romance that I read in no time. One of the things I appreciated most about this book was the representation. Too often in media, plus-size characters are pushed into the role of the “funny best friend,” lacking confidence or never really being seen as desirable. Here, that’s completely different: the heroine is confident in herself, and the love interest finds her genuinely attractive and sexy. That felt refreshing and realistic in a way that I don’t often see in romances. The setup itself (popstar x bodyguard, with a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers dynamic) was also very enjoyable. The book is fast-paced, with a good level of tension throughout, and I never felt bored. It was the kind of story that you can breeze through in a short amount of time, which I really liked. But the stalker subplot completely lost me... (SPOILER ALERT) The reveal that her father was behind it, plus the half-sister twist and kidnapping, felt way too over-the-top. Sweet romance, entertaining read, but the messy ending dragged it down for me
