Abgeschnitten von ihren Freunden in der Außenwelt langweilt sie sich zu Tode. Bis sie Gabriel begegnet, dem merkwürdigen Jungen, der nachts auf seiner Knochenflöte spielt und sie zu Orten und Ideen mitnimmt, die Sylvia neu und zugleich vertraut sind. <br/><br/>Dank des einfachen und zielsicheren Schreibstils werden sowohl Jugendliche auch als Erwachsene von Almonds phantastisch angehauchten Roman verzaubert. Das Leseerlebnis fühlt sich wie ein ruhiger Sommernachmittag an, an dem die Zeit stillzustehen scheint, sodass man jeden Moment genießen kann.
