Reviewed by CarinaMore 3.5ish. I didn't enjoy it as much as Anne of Green Gables, alhtough I looked forward to Anne being older. In some parts it just felt really boring and patched up. I loved the subplot with Miss Lavender though! I need more Gilbert Blythe! Can't wait for the next book!
Reviewed by LucyIn the second book, Anne is already 16 and starting a new chapter as a teacher in Avonlea. She originally wanted to go to college, but after a fateful turn of fate, she decides to stay at home. It is always touching to see how Anne grows up without losing her special charm and lively imagination. She also realises that some friendships are becoming stronger, while others are slowly changing as everyone goes their own way. This book is slower than the first, but still full of loving moments, familiar characters and that special warmth that makes Green Gables so unique. A wonderful sequel.
