Reviewed by Jayceen FouillardTime: 1970-1973 Place: Daly City, California What happened: - David Pelzer was severely abused by his mother - She burned his arm with cigarettes - Made him drink ammonia - Starved him And even locked him in the bathroom for days ! She threaten to kill herself if he didn’t do what she wanted ! The other 3 children were forced into abusing him because their mom Katherine threaten to abuse them if they didn’t do what she wanted !! He even stole because she refused to feed his own son ! Stephen Joseph Pelzer left for another woman and David got blamed for it which wasn’t his fault ! He was mentally , physically and psychologically because she would do all of these things Physically: - Burned his arm with cigarettes - Made him drink ammonia - Hit him with a broom - Starved him - Made him eat his own vomit She made David stand outside in ice skates until his toes nearly froze off. - Cut his face Mentally: - Called him 'It' - Told him he was worthless Psychologically: - Controlled his every move The stars reveal. She controlled him by: - Locking doors to trap him - Hiding his clothes to keep him home - Threatening death if he disobeyed - Beating him for being small - Made him fear her And was very highly manipulative as well as controlling ! She would also give him food and then call him a pig for eating it with in 2 minutes when that is NOT long enough to digest food at all ! Anyways it is a good book :)
