Rezension von LinaThis is easily the worst book I have ever read and I am so sorry Ms. Libaire. Was looking for a contemporary love-story, an emotional rollercoaster, yet easy read. I half-enjoyed the first 15 pages of it and tried to pull through, thinking maybe I just had to get emotionally attached to the story or get used to the writing-style to enjoy it. I was wrong. Why I disliked it: - super fast pacing, unlike any other book. In average, every chapter is 1-2 pages covering several hours, days, moments, that are completely rushed through. However, not in a good elliptical sense of writing - it was just random things being mentioned / random moments happening back to back. No event, chapter, or whatever, seems of any importance. So many times I wanted to skip four pages, maybe 10, maybe 20, and now I know I would‘ve indeed not missed anything important to the story. At. All. - dull characters. I was waiting for growth or an actual insight into them but nope. They were just there. - No plot-conflicts at all besides the apparent „class conflict“, that never caused a lot of drama and was solved in 10 pages. They basically fall in love on page 10 and then they live their life in 260 pages and then something „shocking“ happens and that’s it. And even that was boring. - I was not emotionally tied to anything happening in this book. It left me cold, entirely - Why did I even finish this?
