Rezension von BettinaIch lese nicht ganz so oft typische Bücher aus dem Bereich Romance/Liebesroman, weil sie - auf mich - oft sehr kitschig, eindimensional und unauthentisch wirken. Dabei mag ich das Genre an sich gerne, wenn es gut gemacht ist. 'The Wedding Date' von Jasmine Guillory hat mich total überrascht. Und zwar positiv! Mag sein, dass man mich leicht beeindrucken kann, aber ich kann an diesem Roman einfach nichts aussetzen: er ging ans Herz, war witzig und humorvoll. Es gab ernste Stellen ohne unnötiges Drama. Die Charaktere sind authentisch und begegnen sich auf Augenhöhe. Sowohl die Hauptcharaktere Alexa und Drew als auch die vielen Nebencharaktere wachsen einem ans Herz. Ich bin so froh, dass ich noch einige Jasmine Guillory Romane, die alle lose in einer Serie zusammenhängen, die man aber unabhängig voneinander lesen kann, auf meinem eBook Reader habe. Und weil 'The Wedding Date' mich so begeistert hat, überlege ich tatsächlich, mir das eBook als Taschenbuch für mein Regal zu kaufen. Ich bin wirklich schwer begeistert :)!
