Rezension von dajameepIch weiß nicht, ob ich es nicht genau versehe. Aber meiner Meinung nach könnte der ganze Part mit den Miniaturen und der Miniaturistin werden, ohne dass dadurch die Geschichte beeinflusst wird. Es zeigt ein bisschen, wie die Hauptcharakterin an Reife und Selbstbewusstsein erhält… aber das kommt auch an so vielen anderen Stellen gut durch. Ich freue mich, dass die Hauptcharakterin eine solche Entwicklung durchgeht, und wirklich zu mehr Selbstbewusstsein und Selbstwertgefühl erhält. Das ist ein schöner Aspekt. Generell gibt es viele weibliche Charaktere, die Stärke auf ihre Weisen ausstrahlen; sie zeigen, wie Frauen sich durch Beziehungen (familiär, freundschaftlich) untereinander stärken und Halt geben. Aber so viele Aspekte (die alle für sich genommen eine Daseins-Berechtigung haben, weil sie doch alle eine vertretbare Message rüberbringen) wirken herbeigezogen… meiner Meinung nach hätte das Buch auch ohne diese Kleinigkeiten eine starke Geschichte gehabt.
Rezension von Franziska GieseckeThis story is wonderful researched, has good characters and everything what happens in life happens also in the story. I want to read more if Jessie Burton and can't await her second novel.
