Rezension von DianaDas Englisch von Rachel Cusk ist manchmal kompliziert zu verstehen, da sie einen sehr großen Wortschatz hat und immer wieder Wörter in ungewöhnlichen Zusammensetzungen benutzt. Was die Freude am Lesen nicht schmälert, nur eine Herausforderung darstellt. Die Erfahrungen der Familie in Italien, ihre oftmals unkonventionelle Art des Reisens, ihre Beobachtungen entlang der Strecke in den Süden, auch ihre fehlgeschlagenen Vorhaben, Frust und Enttäuschung, neben all den wunderbaren kleinen Beobachtungen und den sehr geistreichen Vergleichen - aber auch die Exkurse in die Kunst
