Rezension von Isa“Die Frau des Farmers" erzählt eine beeindruckende Biografie einer Frau, die zu dem wurde, was sie als Kind auf keinen Fall wollte. Nachdem Helen Rebanks das Leben einer Bäuerin bei ihrer Mutter und Großmutter vorgelebt bekam, wählte sie einen anderen Lebensweg und studierte Kunst. Heute führt sie mit ihrem Mann James Rebanks ein eigenes Gehöft im Lake District Englands. In ihrem Buch berichtet sie immer wieder in Rückblenden von ihrer Kindheit und Jugend, nimmt den Leser bei ihren Entscheidungen mit und erzählt mit unglaublichem Detailreichtum von ihren täglichen Aufgaben. Hier geht sie oft auf Rollenbilder und ihre Tagesablauf ein, ohne sich jemals zu beschweren, aber auch ohne Euphemismen. So bekommt der Leser einen authentischen Lebensbericht einer Bäuerin.
