Rezension von Raphaela Die Story ist noch eher simpel und auch die Charaktere sind noch nicht so ausgefeilt wie in den späteren Romanen. Doch die Ausstattung und die Illustrationen des Buches sind einfach atemberaubend. Einige der Konzepte aus Devil's Rose werden Lesern auch später in abgewandelter Form in seinem Roman "Lost Gods" wieder begegnen. Schon in diesem Werk lässt Brom alles durchklingen, was seine späteren Bücher so grandios macht, eben nur in etwas roherer, ungeübter Form. Das Buch liest sich schnell, bleibt aber trotzdem auf jeden Fall im Gedächtnis haften.
