This is a dark book. It starts out as if it’s written for young adults. But this is misleading. The story is really an adult fairytale which has a child as it’s main character. The author draws on the Grimm fairytales and twists them to so they are familiar but the characters don’t get the “happy ending” we are used to. The book itself is a lot like this.
