Rezension von JuliaMurderbot ist sci-fi-allstar. Aber der Einstieg in diesen Roman war schwierig, zu sehr ein Nachgedanke zu Network-Effect - zwar meinem Lieblingsband, aber liegt die Lektüre schon länger zurück… mir fiel es schwer, gleich in die actiongepackte Reprise hineinzufallen. Und dann auch: ein wenig zu sehr hat man sich schon an die Figuren gewöhnt, es ist schön sie wiederzutreffen, aber der Innovtionseffekt ist vorbei. Dennoch: die Geschichte entwickelt sich mit interessanten Wendungen, der Media-Subplot ist superb und Wells ist eine Meisterin im Emotionalisieren von einfachen Maschinen. „It would be nice to know why it happened. It might help the colonists become more cohesive about moving toward an evacuation if we had a better understanding of their history.” “You can’t do therapy on a whole colony “, Tarik said,”no matter how much they need it.” “But if the story is that and they did find a Pre-CR site up here”, Ratthi added, “it makes the whole thing that much more mystifying.” It should be reassuring that humans don’t get what other humans are thinking, either, but it just highlights how fucked up human neural tissue can be.“ „Ratthi sent me a glyph of a preservation party sparkler exploding.
