Rezension von JuliaMir sind die Figuren dieses Buches sehr ans Herz gewachsen, so warm und liebevoll sind sie entwickelt. So offen gehen sie auf die Protagonistin zu (dieser Vater, diese Schwester, dieser ältere Gentleman namens Peregrine!), die sich durch ihr Leben kämpft, das von einer nicht genannten psychischen Krankheit bestimmt wird. Und dieser Kampf wird so eindrücklich von Mason geschildert, die sich dafür aller Emotionen bedient!! Ich habe so viel gefühlt bei dieser Lektüre. Der Roman steht auf der Shortlist des Women‘s Prize for Fiction 2022 - weswegen ich ihn entdeckt habe - und ist eine intime Odyssee in das Leben und Fühlen der Hauptfigur Martha. Loved it!
