This book was almost a rage quit. When Ben sent Scott home I totally lost it. If I could I would have strangled Ben. Such a shame... 😈 Well, actually I found this whole incident unreasonable and unfitting for Ben's character. He may be indecisive when it come to his conviction to be able to provide for Scott, but he knows!! He dammit knows that Scott's family is nuts and that this could have damn well traumatized him. Also, he was too easily convinced of Scoot's dad's argument. His dad said like three sentences and Ben was like "Yeah, that's right" as if he didn't ALREADY think about that problem. Yes, ok the problem may have been amplified by the accident, but that doesn't mean he suddenly gets a free ride on the roller coaster of idiocy. This made Ben's love for Scott seen really shallow. I can understand that Ben wants Scott to lead a good life but this was a very important decision he made, without actually thinking what was good for Scott! He just assumed that what was most important for him was also what is most important for Scott. (Just think about aaaall the people at Christmas who regularly assume that you'd like gifts they'd like...) Of course there're also little things that bugged me, especially the fact that we never actually find out why Ben is so fixated on money and being financially independent. Since this is the third book in the series I can say that some aspects seem kinda redundant. Like, for example, that I still have to encounter a sane pair of parents. Or someone who didn't have to leave because of their coming out. Or the fact that all the subs are really very eager to get into bdsm. Yeah, so... yeah. I still gave the book three stars because I essentially liked it and that's what matters in the end :)
