Obwohl ich diesen Mix aus Horror-Fantasy und Hollywood-Glamour-Atmosphäre als Roman gern mochte, bleibt er mir nicht im Gedächtnis. Die Hauptfigur war mir zu distanziert-ironisch und auch zu eindimensional determiniert. Im Pacing irrte er zwischen langen Momenten und wilden Zeitsprüngen umher und ließ mich dann verwirrt zurück. Außerdem habe ich den Verdacht, dass der Roman Filme gar nicht liebt, sondern sie nur als Bühnenbild benutzt, um eine Geschichte über Freiheit zu erzählen. Ob mich das stört oder nicht, daran scheiden sich noch mein Geister.
