Ike Randolph has been out of jail for fifteen years. The last thing he expects to hear is that his son Isiah has been murdered, along with Isiah's white husband, Derek. Ike had never fully accepted his son but is devastated by his loss. Derek's father Buddy Lee was almost as ashamed of Derek for being gay as Derek was ashamed his father was a criminal. Ike and Buddy Lee, two ex-cons with little else in common other than a criminal past and a love for their dead sons, band together in their desperate desire for revenge

Razorblade Tears is a raw, hard-hitting crime novel that blends intense action with deep emotional weight. S. A. Cosby explores grief, masculinity, prejudice, and redemption through flawed, unforgettable characters, delivering a story that is as thoughtful as it is violent. The pacing is sharp, the writing gritty, and the themes linger long after the last page. This is not a light or comforting read, but it is a powerful one. Best suited for readers who enjoy dark thrillers with emotional depth and moral complexity rather than romance or easy resolutions.
3.25 ⭐️ This was a good thriller in many ways (I appreciated the themes and how the two dads were not suddenly portrayed as dad of the year by the end of the novel) but for my personal enjoyment a bit too violent. Plus, how the MCs found out who was behind the murders of their sons came out of nowhere and felt like a lucky guess. Would still recommend if extreme violence is not a problem for you.
