Rezension von MeggyIt is well written and everything and I think that it is a good book in general, but I have to say… while I was reading the book, I heard about the rumors around powerless… As soon as I heard that the author basically copied the story of red queen, I just couldn't enjoy the book anymore. I then also decided to simply cancel the series because I already forced myself so much through the first book.

Rezension von Mira HeimannIch glaube mir ist das Lesen von einem Buch selten so leicht gefallen. Tatsächlich ist es wahrscheinlich auch das fünfte Mal, das ich dieses Buch lese. Aber ich liebe diese Serie einfach und habe es bisher immer nur auf Deutsch gelesen gehabt. Jetzt hatte ich aber auch endlich die „darling-experience”, also checke schon, dass er Payden auf Deutsch immer Schatz nennt, aber das ist irgendwie ein Ick. Generell hat mir alles an der Sprache in Englisch besser gefallen und ich konnte mich wirklich vollkommen in der Geschichte verlieren. Es gab ja irgendwie immer mal wieder Vorwürfe, dass die Geschichte geklaut ist von der Königin der Herzen oder halt auch von den Hunger Games. Ich persönlich weiß jetzt nicht in wie weit das stimmt, aber ehrlich gesagt sind auch so ziemlich alle Sport-Romance sehr ähnlich und ich finde der Schreibstil hat mich bei dieser Reihe einfach besonders gefesselt. Ich meine Leutee Kai ist einfach ein Poet und ich lag wirklich grinsend auf meinem Bett. Natürlich wurde auch geweint, als Adena gestorben ist. Den obwohl ich Kai und Payden liebe, darf man die Nebencharaktere nicht unterschätzen. Kitt und Adena haben sooo unfassbar krasse Geschichten und mein Herz tut weh, weil ihre Geschichten so tragisch enden. Jetzt fehlen mir nur noch die beiden Novellen, da bin ich auch sehr gespannt drauf. Und zum Schluss noch ein persönlicher Ratschlag an die girlies, träumt von einem Narren mit sturmgrauen Augen, der euch anbetet.
Rezension von JoanaFrom the very beginning, #Powerless had me hooked🙌🏼 It’s one of those books that’s incredibly easy to binge, constantly making you want to read “just one more chapter” until suddenly it’s 2 a.m👀 The standout of the book was definitely the tension between Paedyn and Kai. The banter, the stolen moments, the push and pull between them… I ate it up🔥 And Kai? Well…yeah, he might just be making his way onto my book boyfriend list because I was down bad from the moment he appeared🫣 Boyfriend material💯 The romance was easily my favorite part of the story. Every interaction felt charged, and Lauren Roberts does a great job building anticipation without rushing things. The chemistry alone kept me turning the pages. That being said, I couldn’t ignore how familiar parts of the story felt😫 Especially during the first half, I found myself thinking of The Hunger Games and somehow Divergent quite often. The deadly trials, the societal structure, the competition elements - way to many déjà-vu vibes👀 I also noticed that certain descriptions and phrases felt repetitive throughout the book. It wasn’t enough to ruin my enjoyment, but it did occasionally pull me out of the story… Still, despite those criticisms, I had a great time reading this. The pacing is addictive, the tension is top-tier, and that ending definitely leaves you wanting more😋 . . . . Rating : 3,75⭐️ Spice : 0🌶️ Recommendation : ✅
