High school graduation is supposed to be the ending of one chapter and the beginning of another. The excitement of college comes and the mystery of what the future holds. Mine ended in tragedy, and although my life didn’t end and the world didn’t stop turning around me, my heart still broke. They told me she was dead. But that was a lie.Her parents had other plans for her that I wasn’t supposed to be a part of. They used her amnesia to steal her from me, her friends, the life she wanted, the future we had planned.I should have searched harder, longer, but medical school and my residency that followed took over ten years of my life. I drowned myself in work, and when that didn’t numb the pain, I sought relief with a tattoo needle.A chance encounter changed everything. There she was, standing in the doorway, singing the lyrics to the song I was strumming on the guitar. After a decade, my love was back. But she was married with two kids. And one of them—her nine-year-old—had eyes that mirrored my own.

I liked the idea of the plot but it wasnt executed well. It all felt rushed and forced, especially the end. It was a bit of unnessecery drama. A bit more angst and tension would have been my wish. Since i didnt read the first book it was alot to take in since there where so many characters so it felt very overwhelming trying to figure out who is who. (I only found out about the first book after i finished that one...) She has amnesia that ultimatly ripped her out of her old life. 9 years later she sees him again but everything is new and different while his love for her stayed the same but she cant remember him. Like i already said, it all felt rushed and also very odd at times. Nine years have passed, and it feels like nothing and no one has changed. She met him again through a coincidence and immediatly moves in with him simply because she feels comfortable with him, he knows her and to get away from her husband. I found it really strange that she left her children with people who where technically strangers to her just because she was friends with them years ago. The children just got ripped out of their Routine and are more or less expected to adapt from one day to another. The whole plot happend in a span of a few weeks. that.felt.rushed. She lost her memory got her man back, moved herself and her children in an got enganged to him... oh and she got pregnant again. They picked the relationship there up where it ended nine years ago. They barely even tried to get to know each other again. It felt like non of the characters even changend over the nine years except the main character. Apart from these minor things I still enjoyed the book very much.
