Rezension von JuliaThis book kept me awake! I was fully immersed in Maddies life and problems. And I loved the narrative tone which changed between funny-introspective and melancholic-clueless. And I speedread through my nights. But in the second half of the book everything became too convenient, too dramatic and somewhat even too smoothly. Some parts felt too repetitive, others too didactic. Overall: Maddie is a charming page-turner about a quarter life crisis, about loss, about love, about being a daughter and, my favorite part, about friendship. A lovely debut. “Dating is a weird concept, isn’t it? I hardly know this man, he barely knows me, yet here I am, in his house, sat on his bar stool watching him make dinner. But that’s fine because it’s a date?”’!
