Rezension von feadzyEhrlich gesagt ist es eine herzzerreißende Geschichte, die mich ohne ein Gefühl der Zufriedenheit zurücklässt – und doch bin ich froh, sie gelesen zu haben. Goldings Schreibstil ist mir etwas zu repetitiv und bisweilen sehr langatmig, aber die Charaktere und die Handlung als Ganzes haben mir gefallen. Ich kann gut nachvollziehen, warum dieses Buch an amerikanischen Schulen behandelt wird, denn es bietet Anlass zu interessanten Diskussionen über Religion sowie über soziale und politische Dynamiken, die stets von Bedeutung bleiben werden.

Rezension von EllaAt first i found it hard to get into the book, but at the end i couldn’t put it down, because so much crazy, terrible things happened. The character development (or decrease lmao) is fascinating. Loved it!

Rezension von Danielle BergSo I read this in one sitting during high school during a red eye flight back home and actually enjoyed the story. Thought of giving it another go and now I can’t remember what I enjoyed so much about it. The last 20 or so pages were great. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mindset for this book. I will say I liked the psychological aspect of the story though.
