Book: High Hopes Author: Ki Stephens ARC Review: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐/5 Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ Tropes: - Strangers to Friends to Lovers - Black Cat × Golden Retriever - Cinnamon Roll MMC - Artist × Soccer Player - Banter High Hopes is a college romance that revolves around the life of a soccer player Liam Donovan and a black cat artist Bridget "Birdie" Collins when he comes crashing into her life, literally. Liam Donovan is a golden retriever, cinnamon roll of a soccer player who is always onto some mischief and definitely hates the hoity toity pretensions. Bridget "Birdie" Collins is exact opposite of what Liam is. A grumpy, black cat hardworking artist who is struggling to keep herself afloat, just so she can make through her semesters. The last thing she wanted was Liam or anything that comes with it. So when fellowship program comes, she realises maybe it's just him she needs. The book shows the struggles of Birdie, her imposter syndrome, Liam's college life of uncertainty, the unknown and their blooming relationship. I liked how the author put more emphasis on their emotional connection instead of them jumping right into the bed. The spice is there, just not overwhelming amount. Other than that there are many cute moments between Liam and Birdie. They're just adorable. It just makes me want to wrap them up ina fuzzy warm blanket!!! If you are looking for a cute, warm and low on spice college romance, pick this book bc it's freaking perfect!
