The book was a quick and enjoyable read. I never felt bored and the book did get me excited at the first few chapters. I may have a different opinion about things in this book as compared to others but here goes. Ava is a complicated and insecure main character who tries to get by. She isn't content and wants more out of life but she doesn't go out of her comfort zone to change things in her life until the end. There was a point where you could see the selfishness she held for wanting things in her life to get better by taking advantage of both people. Julian for the apartment and the gifts while Edith for the attention and love. Ava is bisexual and wants both worlds without letting go of the other which is unfair for the other parties. While Julian did not really want a relationship with her, he was content to having her around as a companion or partner. Maybe he wasn't just comfortable with the thought of romantic concept but he did see Ava as a partner. Money was important to him and spending money for Ava didn't seem like a big deal even if the guy was always about money. I wasn't really into the Edith character. I was well-introduced to Julian but Edith didn't really seem to stick with me until the end. I felt that the characterization of Edith was too selfish as well. I was shipping for the whole Julian and Ava ideal. I know not many would have the same opinion but I did see how Julian did value Ava as well whilst Ava was the one spending for Edith. Ava longed for attention that Julian could not give but Edith could. I guess it also depends on what you may see as a language of love, not just romantically. Overall, the book was a good experience. I wanted a different ending but I guess this is fine. I'm looking forward for a hard copy to arrive here since I got the ebook first.
