Es war an sich ganz süß und mal was anderes, aber ich bin mit dem Schreibstil nicht warm geworden. Ich finde da kommt zu wenig Gefühl rüber und die Love Story steht nicht wirklich im Vordergrund aber auf einmal will er sie heiraten obwohl sie sich noch nie näher gekommen sind? Man kann ja schöne Tension ohne Smut auch im YA Bereich schreiben, deswegen war das etwas enttäuschend. Ich werde die Trilogie nicht weiter lesen. 2.5⭐️

• es hat anfangs etwas Zeit gebraucht, bis ich mich an das Buch und vor allem an den Schreibstil gewöhnt hatte, aber dann war es wirllich toll • bezaubernde Figuren • magisch • Wohlfühlbuch • es hat viel Spaß gemacht, es zu lesen, da es einfach gehalten war und gleichzeitig trotzdem komplex • herzerwärmende Beziehung zwischen Em und Wendell • Charaktere, in die man sich gut einführen konnte

Beim lesen wurde ich selbst Teil der Feenwelt! Hab es geliebt.

Cosy Fantasy 10/10 Schön beschriebenes Setting, tolle Charakteren

The story is told through a research journal format, which I found both refreshing and slightly frustrating. On the one hand, it added a unique voice and fit the scholarly theme perfectly. On the other, I sometimes wished for clearer emotional insight — the scientific tone created a bit of distance from the main character’s feelings. Still, the characters were wonderfully written. I especially loved the side characters — and Emily’s dog, as well as the delightful little creature Poh (not sure of the spelling since I listened to the audiobook, but the narration really helped with all the Nordic names!). The plot unfolds slowly, which suited the worldbuilding well, but the pace picks up quite suddenly toward the end — something I actually enjoyed. Overall, I enjoyed this cozy, whimsical read set in a vividly imagined world of faeries. It almost felt like a standalone, but knowing there’s more to come, I’m really looking forward to Book 2.
